Terms of Service

1. Service description

LaTeX Formatter ("the Service", "we", "us") is a web tool that automatically detects and fixes figure placement and table formatting issues in LaTeX documents. The Service is operated by Ahmed Sleem (contact us via the contact form).

2. Acceptance

By uploading a file or using the Service in any way, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

3. Your files

• You retain full ownership of all files you upload. We claim no intellectual property rights over your content.
• Uploaded files are stored temporarily on our servers (maximum 48 hours) solely to process your job and make the result available for download. They are then automatically deleted.
• We do not read, share, sell, or use your files for any purpose other than running the formatting engine on your behalf.
• We do not train any machine-learning models on your content.
• You must have the right to upload the files you submit (e.g. your own work, or work you are authorised to process).

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Upload files containing malicious code or exploits.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload the Service.
• Resell access to the Service without written permission.
• Upload files you do not have the right to process.

5. Payments and refunds

Payments are processed by DodoPayments. Credits do not expire. Subscriptions renew monthly and can be cancelled at any time; you retain access until the end of the paid period. If the Service fails to process a job due to a bug on our side, contact us for a credit refund. We do not offer refunds for jobs that were processed successfully but whose output does not meet your expectations - the tool is deterministic and its rules are documented.

6. Service availability

We aim for high availability but make no guarantee of uptime. The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for missed submission deadlines or any consequential damages.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 30 days preceding the claim, or $10, whichever is greater.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms. We will update the "last updated" date above. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
